U.S. Consul General Melinda Pavek to Visit XLRI Jamshedpur, Discuss Supply Chain Management

Set to interact with E-Cell Members of XLRI on Tribal Entrepreneurship Project; Reflects her rich experience in supply chain management

JAMSHEDPUR – Melinda Pavek, the Consul General of the U.S. Consulate General in Kolkata, India, will be visiting XLRI Jamshedpur on August 25, 2023. The purpose of her visit is to give a talk on "Challenges & Opportunities in Supply Chain Management," followed by an interactive session with E-Cell Members of XLRI.

The dialogue will extend to the ongoing Tribal Entrepreneurship Project, aligning with XLRI’s goals to support students through workshops, courses, educational guidance, and programs focused on STEM, education, entrepreneurship, and strategic cultural initiatives.

Melinda Pavek, who joined the U.S. Consulate General in Kolkata in August 2021, brings with her a wealth of knowledge and international experience. She has served in various positions across the globe in Tokyo, Islamabad, Bandar Seri Begawan, Kathmandu, Kingston, Baghdad, Lahore, and Washington, D.C.

Before her prestigious career in the Foreign Service, Pavek worked for Johnson & Johnson as a supply chain senior analyst and as a consultant and project manager. Her business acumen is backed by a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana College.

Her earlier role as an English teacher in Miyagi, Japan, and her diverse professional background lends a unique perspective to her upcoming talk at XLRI, likely to resonate with the students and faculty eager to engage with her insights.

XLRI Jamshedpur is known for its strong focus on entrepreneurial ventures and innovative education. The interaction with Consul General Pavek is anticipated to enhance the institution’s efforts in molding future leaders and contributing positively to the broader community.
