Tata Steel Wraps Up Inter-Divisional Lagori Tournament for Women

Tata Steel’s Inter-Divisional Lagori Tournament (Women) concludes, showcasing talent of over 144 players with Iron Making winning the title at JRD Tata Sports Complex.

JAMSHEDPUR – The grand finale of Tata Steel’s Inter-Divisional Lagori Tournament (Women) was celebrated with much enthusiasm.

The tournament was organized by Tata Steel Sports Department from August 17-18, 2023, at the Hockey Ground, JRD Tata Sports Complex.

Hemant Gupta, Head Adventure Programme & Sports, Jamshedpur, graced the event as the Chief Guest.

A remarkable gathering of 18 teams from 18 Units of Tata Steel battled for the trophy.

More than 144 talented players took part in the engaging competition.

The team from Iron Making emerged as the ultimate winners, with West Bokaro securing the runner-up position and Tata Steel Kalinganagar finishing as the 2nd runner-up.

Renowned technical officials including Arshad Ali, Jagat Sonkar, Firoze Khan, Chintamani, and Amrik Singh, ensured that the matches were played with fair adherence to the rules.

The event symbolized Tata Steel’s commitment to promoting sports and fostering a spirit of camaraderie among its workforce.

The tournament successfully provided a platform for employees to showcase their athletic prowess, further solidifying Tata Steel’s position as a promoter of sports and community.
