Jamshedpur Women’s University Celebrates World Tribal Day
Jamshedpur Women’s University organizes World Tribal Day with cultural dances, ramp walks, and exhibitions; showcases indigenous tribes and their culture.
JAMSHEDPUR – Images depicting the eating customs of several Jharkhand tribal clans were displayed as part of the World Tribal Day celebrations at Jamshedpur Women’s University.
In addition to showcasing Jharkhand’s Warli and Sohrai paintings, the female students planned an exhibition of African tribal paintings, emphasizing the rich cultural heritage of indigenous communities.
Moreover, the female students from several departments of the university arranged cultural dances and ramp walks, showcasing the diverse culture of various Indian tribal tribes.
The festivities were in honor of World Tribal Day, celebrated every year on August 9 to support and defend the rights of indigenous tribal peoples.
According to Anjila Gupta, the vice-chancellor of the university, International Day of the Indigenous Peoples instills a fresh vigor and sense of inspiration in tribal tribes worldwide.
She also highlighted the importance of spreading the message of environmental protection to other nations on this day.
The event was a vibrant reflection of the customs, traditions, and artistic expressions of tribal communities, reaffirming the university’s commitment to cultural diversity and inclusivity.
