In response to elephant-related concerns in Chakulia block, Jamshedpur, the forest department has issued a toll-free number to report sightings and ensure safety.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a move to address the ongoing terror caused by elephants in the Chakulia block of Jamshedpur, the forest department has launched a new initiative.
A toll-free number, 18003456486, has been issued for the residents to report any sightings or information regarding the arrival of elephants in their village.
Mamta Priyadarshi, DFO, Forest Department, has issued the toll-free number, appealing to the public to immediately call if any information about the elephants is received.
The Quick Response Team (QRT) of the Forest Department will respond and reach the location as soon as the call is made.
It should be noted that the Forest Department has been working tirelessly to send elephants back to Bengal in the Chakulia and Baharahoda border areas, but the elephants have returned and are now settled in the Chakulia block.
At present, the forest department is urging people not to approach the elephants and to call the toll-free number instead, allowing the department’s team to safely guide the elephants back to the forest.
This initiative marks a significant step in ensuring the safety of both the local residents and the elephants, highlighting the importance of cooperation between the community and the forest department.
