‘Kaali’ Director Leena Manimekalai’s Effigy Burnt in Jamshedpur
Hindu Jagran Manch burns effigy of Leena Manimekalai

Jamshedpur: An effigy of Tamil documentary filmmaker Leena Manimekalai was burnt at the Sakchi roundabout in Jamshedpur on Monday. The protest was led by Balbir Mandal, the district president of Hindu Jagran Manch.

Balbir Mandal said that the film Kali has been made by Tamil filmmaker Leena Manimekalai, who has released the film’s teaser poster, in which Maa Kali is shown to be smoking a cigarette.

He said that this is nothing but playing with Hindu faith for cheap publicity and it will not be tolerated in any way.

He said that Leena Manimekalai should apologize to entire Hindu community for this shamelessness.

Those who participated in the protest included General Secretary of the Manch Pappu Upadhyay, Rahul Kumar Abhishek, Rocky Singh, Appu Tiwari, Satish Mukhi, Vishal Tiwari, Upendra Verma, Deepak Singh and Ranjit Singh and others.
