New Parks And Organic Forests Planned To Boost Biodiversity

Rs 24 crore biodiversity park near Harina temple set for completion this fiscal year.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Forest Department is intensifying efforts to increase green cover and biodiversity in East Singhbhum district through various initiatives.

"We’re developing new parks and organic forests to enhance recreational spaces and local greenery," a Forest Department official stated.

Key projects include:

– Parks in Govindpur, Chakulia, and Harina (Potka)

– Expansion of green cover in Dalma terai regions

– Establishment of organic forests

The flagship project is a 28.10-hectare biodiversity park near Harina temple in Potka, with an investment of Rs 24 crore.

"This park will serve as a sanctuary for flora and fauna while offering a serene retreat for visitors," the official explained.

These initiatives aim to mitigate climate impacts and enrich forest biodiversity.

The department’s holistic approach benefits both the environment and local communities.

Efforts focus on creating sustainable green spaces that serve multiple purposes.

This expansion of green initiatives underscores the region’s commitment to environmental conservation.

The projects are expected to significantly improve East Singhbhum’s ecological balance and recreational facilities.
