JAMSHEDPUR – The Forest Department is intensifying efforts to increase green cover and biodiversity in East Singhbhum district through various initiatives.
"We’re developing new parks and organic forests to enhance recreational spaces and local greenery," a Forest Department official stated.
Key projects include:
– Parks in Govindpur, Chakulia, and Harina (Potka)
– Expansion of green cover in Dalma terai regions
– Establishment of organic forests
The flagship project is a 28.10-hectare biodiversity park near Harina temple in Potka, with an investment of Rs 24 crore.
"This park will serve as a sanctuary for flora and fauna while offering a serene retreat for visitors," the official explained.
These initiatives aim to mitigate climate impacts and enrich forest biodiversity.
