JAMSHEDPUR – District authorities announced a comprehensive filaria eradication campaign starting February 10 during a coordination meeting.
ADM Law and Order Aniket Sachan chaired the session. The campaign will run through February 25.
“Prevention is crucial as symptoms take years to appear,” Dr. A. Mitra explained.
Target Areas
The campaign focuses on high-risk zones. These include Bodam, Patamda, and Potka blocks.
Meanwhile, Golmuri-cum-Jugsalai will also receive coverage. Urban areas come under the program too.

Anganwadi workers will lead door-to-door visits. They will distribute essential medicines.
Moreover, Sahiyas will assist in medicine administration. Strict guidelines ensure safe distribution.
Community Involvement
Multiple departments join the initiative. Social organizations will support awareness efforts.
Meanwhile, officials launched campaign stickers. The team took a pledge for filaria elimination.
“Public participation is essential for success,” ADM Sachan emphasized.
