Chatra Police Seize 76g of Brown Sugar, Arrest Two Smugglers
Police in Chatra apprehend two smugglers, seize 76 grams of brown sugar, cash and other valuables in successful raid.
JAMSHEDPUR – Chatra police achieved a significant victory in their fight against drug trafficking, arresting two smugglers and confiscating 76 grams of brown sugar.
The arrested individuals have been identified as V K Dangi and P K Dangi, both residents of Dhodi village in the Mayurhand police station area.
This information was shared by DSP Headquarters Kedar Nath Ram during a press conference.
In addition to the brown sugar, police recovered Rs 63,000 in cash, four mobile phones, a measuring machine, four ATM cards, an Aadhar card, and a ten-lakh receipt from Axis Bank from the arrested individuals.
Superintendent of Police Rakesh Ranjan had received a tip-off about a drug handoff taking place in Dhodhi village.
Quickly acting on this information, a police team was formed and led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Kedarnath Ram.
During the operation, the police intercepted a suspicious individual near Tetaria mode who tried to flee upon seeing the police.
The individual was captured and found to be in possession of two packets of brown sugar.
Upon interrogation, the suspect revealed the involvement of another person from his village, Prabhat Kumar.
Subsequent raids led to the arrest of Prabhat Kumar Dangi, from whom an additional 74 grams of brown sugar, Rs 67,000 in cash, and other items were confiscated.
The successful operation included Deputy Superintendent of Police Kedarnath Ram, Station House Officer Sanjay Kumar Singh, Police Inspector Mukesh Kumar, and several police officers.
