TNSS wants age limit for employment to be increased, to meet union leaders
Jamshedpur: Tisco Nibandhit Shramik Sangh (TNSS) have demanded that the age limit for employment of wards in Tata Steel be increased to accommodate most of the wards who have been waiting for employment for the last 9 years.
TNSS has been agitating for employment of wards for a long time. It has been demanding that all wards be given employment in Tata Steel. However, last time the wards were absorbed in employment was in 2011 when Raghunath Pandey was the president of Tata Workers Union.
TWU has again signed an agreement with the management according to which more wards will get employment in the company.
However, there is an age limit for that. And those who do not qualify the age limit would not get any opportunity for getting a job.
This has caused resentment among the wards, who blame the union for not doing anything for them for nine long years.
Leader of TNSS Mohan Pandey said that the age limit should be increased as it was no fault of the wards. He said that for nine years, nothing was done to employ wards and therefore it is not their fault that they have exceeded the age limit.
He said that last time the age limit was 44 years and this time instead of increasing it, this limit has been decreased.
He said that TNSS delegation would meet the union leaders and press upon them to ensure that the age limit for employment is increased.
