Dense Fog Blankets Parts of Jharkhand as Weather System Moves Northwest
Key Points:
- Well-marked low-pressure over Bay of Bengal impacts state weather
- Minimum temperatures rise across major Jharkhand cities
- Dense fog advisory issued for December 21 in multiple regions
JAMSHEDPUR – A well-marked low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal has triggered temperature rises and foggy conditions across Jharkhand, affecting daily life.
Dense fog enveloped several parts of Jharkhand early morning today. The conditions disrupted road and rail traffic in many areas.
“The visibility dropped significantly in the northwestern and central regions,” a meteorological official stated.
Meanwhile, minimum temperatures showed an upward trend across major cities. Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Daltonganj recorded around 10 degrees Celsius.
System Movement and Impact
The low-pressure system currently lies over the southwest Bay of Bengal. An upper cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 kilometers above sea level.
Moreover, the system is expected to move northwestward in the next 24 hours. It will likely reach north Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh coasts.
“We anticipate the system to shift northward along the Andhra Pradesh coast thereafter,” a weather expert explained.
Additional Weather Dynamics
An induced cyclonic circulation has formed over southwest Rajasthan. The circulation exists at 1.5 kilometers above sea level.
Furthermore, the weather department has issued safety advisories for morning commuters. They recommend avoiding high-speed travel during foggy conditions.
On the other hand, agricultural experts express concern about rabi crops. The unusual warmth could affect their growth in winter conditions.
