Jamshedpur Students Seek Extension for Scholarship Application Deadline

AIDSO submits a memorandum to the District Welfare Officer requesting an extension for the scholarship application deadline.

JAMSHEDPUR – The All India Democratic Students Organization (AIDSO) Jamshedpur City Committee took a significant step forward today to address scholarship-related concerns.

A memorandum was submitted to the District Welfare Officer, shedding light on the issues faced by students amidst the ongoing enrollment process for LL.B under Kolhan University.

Jamshedpur City President, Shubham Kumar Jha, highlighted that the deadline for scholarship applications for the 2022-23 session was set at 25 July 2023 by the Welfare Department.

As LL.B is a vocational course with high fees, many students stand to miss out on the scholarship due to the current timeline.

In response to this issue, the AIDSO has demanded an extension of the deadline to allow students from the 2022-23 session one more opportunity to apply for scholarships.

The organization has also called for the immediate disbursement of pending scholarships for students from the 2021-22 session.

The District Welfare Officer assured the delegation that appropriate action would be taken to address these demands.

The memorandum was handed over in the presence of several student representatives, including District Secretary Sonisen Gupta, District Treasurer Pradeep Yadav, City President Shubham Kumar Jha, Secretaries Savita Soren, Babita Soren, Premchandra Tudu, Khudiram Hasda, Rajesh Gop, Muskan Khan, Vishal Mahto, and Rinki.
