Illegal Lottery Ticket Sellers Arrested in Baharagora

Baharagora police have cracked down on an unauthorized lottery ticket racket, apprehending two individuals and recovering a substantial number of tickets.

JAMSHEDPUR – Police have placed both suspects, Kaushik Ojha, aka Laltu of Baharagoda from Chowringhee Chowk, and Krishna Arjun Rai, in judicial custody following the filing of a case under various sections of the IPC and the Baharagora police station.

This case, bearing the number 39/23, is filed under IPC section 294(.)/420/406/34 and section 7(3) relating to illegal activities.

In the course of the operation, both suspects were found in possession of a total of 1,110 lottery tickets, worth Rs 3310.

Upon receiving intelligence about unauthorized lottery ticket sales, the police set out to investigate, with Krishna Arjun Rai and Kaushik Ojha being subsequently arrested while selling these tickets.

As part of the operation, the police set up a dedicated team following the Superintendent of Police’s (Rural) orders to carry out raids in the area.

Police had received tips that certain individuals were smuggling lottery tickets from West Bengal and selling them illegally in the Baharagora area, prompting the crackdown on Monday.
