Seraikela Court Imposes Life Term on Four Convicts for Murder in Brawl Case
The ADJ court of Kankan Pattadar sentences four convicts to life imprisonment in a murder case during a brawl in Sitani’s Rajnagar village.
SERAIKELA – In a murder case that ensued from a brawl, the court of ADJ Kankan Pattadar delivered a severe sentence to the four convicts: Khetu Patro, Rajendra Bhonj alias Raju, Ranjit Patro, and Shuru Tanti.
According to the court verdict, all four culprits were found guilty of the crime under Section 302 of the IPC and were handed a strict life term in prison.
In addition to their prison term, they were also fined Rs 10,000 each. A failure to pay the fine would result in an additional six months of simple imprisonment.
The case stemmed from allegations by Pramila Barik, a resident of Janatand Tola in the Rajnagar village of Sitani, which led to the case being registered under Rajnagar police station.
Pramila alleged that the aforementioned individuals dragged her brother, Abhiram Barik, from their residence on May 4, 2016, before physically assaulting him with sticks and tying him up on the village road.
Upon receiving the report, the Rajnagar police untied Abhiram and took him to the Community Health Centre Rajnagar for medical assistance, where unfortunately, Abhiram succumbed to his injuries.
