Telco Resident Sentenced in Cheque Bounce Case by Jamshedpur Court
Manjit Kaur sentenced to 6-month imprisonment in a cheque bounce case by a Jamshedpur court.
JAMSHEDPUR – The entire case began with a lodged complaint by Shobha Devi, a neighbor to the accused, Manjit Kaur.
Attorney Prasanjit Kumar, representing the prosecution, recounted the incident.
In 2020, Manjit had borrowed two lakh rupees from Shobha and issued a cheque of the same amount as a repayment method.
However, the cheque was dishonored when Shobha deposited it in the bank.
When Shobha demanded her money back, Manjit refused.
A lawsuit was brought before First Class Judicial Magistrate Namita Minj as a result of this disagreement.
Following a thorough examination of the charges, the court found Manjit guilty.
The punishment was swift – Manjit was sentenced to six months in jail by the Jamshedpur court on Monday.
In addition to the incarceration, Manjit was ordered to return Rs 2.40 lakh to Shobha.
