BJP MLA Samri Lal Criticizes Hemant Government Over Dalit Student Suicide

BJP MLA Samri Lal claims the Hemant government has failed to provide security and protect the dignity of the Dalit tribal communities following the suicide of a Dalit student.

RANCHI – BJP MLA Samri Lal, during a press conference at the BJP state office, expressed concern over the alleged harassment of Dalit tribal communities under the Hemant government.

According to Mr. Lal, the state government has utterly failed to provide security and protect the dignity of these communities.

He argues that the rising number of incidents in the state bear witness to this reality.

The recent suicide of Usha Bauri, a Dalit student from St. Xavier’s School in Dhanbad, has particularly drawn attention.

The student had made allegations against the school before her unfortunate demise, raising questions about the integrity of organizations that claim to serve Dalit tribal society.

Mr. Lal said that the Hemant government’s appeasement policy and behavior have boosted the morale of communal forces.

He added that the increasing influence of western culture threatens traditional Indian values, suggesting public punishment for those trying to sever people from their traditions.

The BJP MLA further stated that despite the constitutional shield provided to the Dalit society, the Hemant government and certain service and education organizations are still practicing communal thinking.

Mr. Lal recalled past anti-Dalit incidents, accusing the state government of inaction and mere lip-service.

He warned that if strict action isn’t taken, the BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha might consider approaching the Raj Bhavan.
