65-Year-Old Man Commits Suicide in Telco, Jamshedpur Amid Wife’s Illness
Distraught over his wife’s sickness, a 65-year-old man took his life by jumping into a pond near Azad Market, under the Telco police station.
JAMSHEDPUR – Tragedy struck Birsanagar Zone No. 1 when 65-year-old Hiravan Thakur committed suicide, overwhelmed by his wife’s debilitating illness.
Early morning onlookers identified Thakur’s body floating in a nearby pond, which led to the police’s involvement.
Upon receipt of the information, the local police promptly arrived at the scene to commence an investigation.
Thakur’s family were then informed of the grim discovery by the locals who initially identified the body.
According to Thakur’s son, his father owned a salon in Riverview Adarsh Colony. The elderly man had left home in the morning to open the salon when he took his life.
The son tried contacting his father several times through the morning but received no response. The family was later informed of Thakur’s tragic action by community members.
Devastated, the family revealed that Thakur had been struggling with the declining health of his wife, which likely spurred him to take such drastic action.
