At the CII Eastern Region’s 10th Manufacturing Conclave, key issues on integrating Global Value Chain were discussed.
JAMSHEDPUR – At the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Eastern Region’s 10th Manufacturing Conclave, the focus was on integrating the Global Value Chain via Competitiveness, Sustainability, and Technology.
This significant event took place in a hotel located in Adityapur, Jamshedpur.
Deputy Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Suvendra Behera, who is also Vice Chairman and Managing Director of RSB Transmission (I) Ltd, underscored the importance of manufacturing to India’s economy during his discourse on the East’s manufacturing ecosystem.
He praised the government of Odisha for easing regulations on land allocation for industry and providing numerous subsidies on electricity and fertiliser.
He then urged the government of Jharkhand to take similar steps to significantly strengthen various regulations.
Behera highlighted the need to enhance land acquisition procedures, increase the reliability of the state’s energy grid, and expand access to fertilisers.
Jitendra Kumar Singh, IAS Secretary, Department of Industries, Government of Jharkhand, spoke about the state’s potential in diverse manufacturing arenas like pharmaceuticals and solar energy during his keynote address.
He pointed out how these sectors are aligned with the global vision of sustainability.
McKinsey & Co. Senior Partner Amit Ganeriwalla, Dr. Rene Van Berkel, UNIDO’s Country Representative, Ravindra Kulkarni, Plant Head – Jamshedpur, Tata Motors Ltd, Ramphal Nehra, Director/Plant Manager at Tata Cummins Pvt. Ltd, and others also delivered insightful speeches on various aspects related to manufacturing.
During the Conclave, the future of factories, Industry 5.0, sustainability, the role of SMEs in achieving manufacturing independence, and Atmanirbhar Manufacturing were some of the topics discussed.
The Regional Quality Circle Convention 2023 awards were also presented during this event.
