NIT Jamshedpur Metallurgy Department Organizes Expert Dialogue

NIT Jamshedpur’s Metallurgy Department holds Expert Dialogue-4 featuring yoga expert Archana Kumari Thakur, focusing on stress reduction.

JAMSHEDPUR – On Wednesday, National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur’s Department of Metallurgy hosted Expert Dialogue-4.

The event was graced by Ms. Archana Kumari Thakur, Deputy General Manager of IDBI Bank, yoga expert, and motivational speaker.

Ms. Thakur emphasized the importance of lifestyle choices, including diet, posture, pranayama, meditation, and mental perspective in stress and depression reduction.

Through the anecdote of two brothers receiving gifts, she discussed how perception could change happiness into sadness.

Institute Director, Professor Gautam Sutradhar, stressed the importance of daily practice to control mind and body, thereby managing stress.

The program commenced with traditional lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana.

Ms. Thakur, the chief guest, was honored with a symbol and shawl.

Dr. Ranjit Prasad, Head of the Department, highlighted Ms. Thakur’s contributions, including coordinating national programs like ‘Jan Dhan Yojana’ and ‘GST’ mission.

As part of the program, Ms. Thakur engaged with students on stress, depression, and exam fear, sharing practical methods to overcome them.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Binod Kumar Singh, a Professor in the Department of Metallurgy.
