Danger Lurks in Gudrubasa Colony in Mango Jamshedpur as Electrical Wires Dangle from Bamboo Poles
Mango’s Gudrubasa New Colony faces a life-threatening situation due to electric wires strung through bamboo poles, causing fears of electrocution among locals.
JAMSHEDPUR – In Gudrubasa New Colony, a mere 50 meters from the Mango Dimna main road, residents live in constant fear of electrocution as electric wires are dangerously strung through bamboo poles.
These makeshift arrangements become particularly hazardous during the rainy season, as moisture causes the bamboo to become conductive, leading to electric shocks.
Locals reported that this perilous condition has persisted for eight years, making the daily life of residents increasingly precarious.
The recent incident of a cow receiving a severe electric shock after heavy rains only escalated their fears. As a precaution, residents restrict their children from venturing outside until the roads dry up after rainfall.
Upon hearing about the situation, local BJP leader Vikas Singh expressed his concern, accusing the electricity department of negligence.
According to Singh, the department prioritizes providing transformers and cement poles to builders over ensuring safety in areas populated by daily wage earners.
Singh has pledged to bring the matter to the attention of both the Deputy Commissioner and the Chief Engineer cum General Manager of the Electricity Department.
He stresses the urgency of addressing this issue before a significant incident occurs, potentially causing loss of life and property.
Among those present at the occasion, expressing their concerns were local residents Harendra Prasad, Vishram Sharma, Raja Kumar, Ram Iqbal Sharma, S.C.Gorai, B.C.Mahto, N.C.Mahto, Himanshu Mahto, Manoj Sharma, and Suraj Kumar.
