Water Crisis Hits Mango’s Repeat Colony in Jamshedpur for 20 Days

Due to a damaged service line, residents of Mango’s Repeat Colony have been without water for nearly 20 days, triggering an outcry.

JAMSHEDPUR – Water scarcity has gripped Mango’s Repeat Colony as residents have been left without water for almost twenty days.

During some work near Vasundhara Estate about twenty days ago, the service line of the Drinking Water Sanitation Department was damaged.

This led to a total stoppage of water supply in the entire Repeat Colony.

About 100 houses in the Repeat Colony have not received even a single drop of water, causing distress and outcry among the local people.

Many residents are now engaged in arranging water rather than carrying out their regular work, buying water at a rate of Rs. 400 per 1000 liters.

Despite the Municipal Corporation’s tanker visits, the water supply is insufficient for the needs of the locals.

On-site, Vikas Singh informed the executive engineer about the issue.

The executive engineer, previously unaware of the situation, assured that mistakes made during pipe repair would be rectified soon.

The local community feels that despite the importance of water for life, the situation isn’t taken seriously by the authorities.

The issue will be escalated to the Deputy Commissioner, stated Vikas Singh.

The locals reported numerous unsuccessful attempts to contact the junior engineer Pandit Mahato about the matter.
