Major Train Disruptions on June 22 Due to Track Maintenance at Bahanaga Bazar Station
Extensive track maintenance work at Bahanaga Bazar Station leads to cancellation, short termination/origination, and diversion of several trains on June 22, 2023.
JAMSHEDPUR – Due to scheduled track maintenance works at the Bahanaga Bazar Station of the Kharagpur-Bhadrak Section in Kharagpur Division, significant disruptions are expected on June 22, 2023.
This will impact a vast number of commuters who rely on these services for travel.
Cancellations Galore
A total of 23 express trains running on the Bhadrak route of the Kharagpur Railway Division will remain canceled. The trains affected include Patna-Puri Special, Howrah-Puri Shatabdi Express, Kharagpur-Villupuram Express, and the Hyderabad-Shalimar East Coast Express among others.
Short Terminations and Origins
Furthermore, there will be short terminations and origins for certain trains. Specifically, the 08063 Kharagpur-Bhadrak MEMU Special and 08064 Bhadrak-Kharagpur MEMU Special, commencing their journeys on June 22, will experience short termination at Balasore and short origination from Balasore respectively.
Diverted Routes
In addition to cancellations and short terminations, certain trains will also be running on diverted routes. These include the 18477 Puri – Yog Nagari Rishikesh Express and the 18478 Yog Nagari Rishikesh-Puri Express, which will be diverted via Cuttack-Sambalpur City-Jharsuguda Road-Ib.
Delays and More Diversions
Apart from these, passengers should also expect delays. The Hatia-Kharagpur Express, for instance, will depart one hour late on June 22 and 25 due to a traffic and power block under the Adra division of South-East Railway. More disruptions are expected on June 23 and 24 as the Dhanbad-Alappuzha Express will run on a diverted route due to development works in the Vijayawada Division of South Central Railway.
