Bollywood Actress Ameesha Patel Ordered to Appear in Ranchi Civil Court on July 10
Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel has been ordered to physically appear in the Ranchi Civil Court on July 10.
RANCHI – Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel is expected to make a physical appearance in Ranchi Civil Court on July 10, 2023, as directed by the court. Patel had submitted an application for exemption from personal appearance on Wednesday, citing a significant commitment in Mohali as her reason for inability to appear.
Ameesha Patel’s plea was opposed by advocate Smita Pathak, representing Ajay Singh. However, the court accepted Patel’s application while stipulating her physical presence in the next hearing. If Patel fails to appear on July 10, her bail may be revoked.
The case dates back to 2017 when Ajay Kumar Singh, proprietor of Lovely World Entertainment, allegedly invested INR 2.5 crores in a film titled Desi Magic to be made by Ameesha Patel. When the film was not produced, and the money was not refunded, Singh filed a complaint, accusing Patel of fraud. Patel reportedly gave Singh a check that subsequently bounced.
Patel, who failed to appear in court on Wednesday, was previously granted conditional bail and had been instructed to appear in court on June 21.
On June 17, Patel had surrendered to the court and was granted bail against two personal bonds of INR 10,000 each.
