DAV PS, Bistupur joins the global community in celebrating International Yoga Day, emphasizing the importance of Yoga for a healthy, stress-free life.
JAMSHEDPUR – International Yoga Day, celebrated annually on 21 June since 2015, was commemorated with much fervor at DAV Public School (DAV PS), Bistupur.
Students and teachers alike actively participated in the event, showcasing their commitment to physical and mental wellness.
The day’s activities kicked off with a Mass Yoga display by ninth-grade students, demonstrating the 12 steps of Surya Namaskara.

Teachers also joined in the mass yoga display, reflecting their dedication to embracing yoga’s holistic benefits.
This year’s theme, ‘YOGA FOR VASUDHAIVA KUTUBAKAM’, emphasizes a shared vision of “One Earth, One Family, and One Future,” encapsulating yoga’s global relevance and impact.
Principal Mrs Pragya Singh motivated the young generation to imbibe the values of yoga for their overall well-being in the fast-paced world, urging them to adopt Yoga as a trend for holistic health rather than indulging in wasteful influences.
She concluded the event with a reminder about yoga’s significance in the contemporary world of fierce competition.
She also said that as a spiritual and ascetic discipline involving breath control, meditation, and specific bodily postures, yoga fosters health, relaxation, and negativity expulsion, promoting a happier, healthier life.
