The sudden death of these fish due to a lack of oxygen and abundance of water hyacinth is causing concern.

A medical team has arrived at the spot to investigate the situation.

Diverse discussions are taking place regarding the cause of the mass death.

While some blame the excessive heat and the consequent lack of oxygen in the water, others attribute it to the bleaching powder and lime used to clean the pond about a week ago.

It is also being suggested that a shortage of natural food in the pond could have resulted in the death of weaker fish.

The incident has caused significant loss to the Jamshedpur Angling Club, which raises the fish in this pond.

The club has now added chemicals to the water to control the pollution caused by the dead fish, and cleaning operations are ongoing till late in the evening.

JUSCO Management has expressed its concern for the aquatic life and assured that they are actively investigating the issue and working on implementing measures to rectify the situation.
