Truck Entry Sparks Ruckus at Jamshedpur’s Strong Room, Clarified as Election Waste

Tensions Rise Before Calm is Restored with Thorough Inspection

A truck from outside the state entering the Co-operative College campus where strong room has been prepared in Jamshedpur late Thursday night caused a stir among political party members.

JAMSHEDPUR – Late Thursday night, chaos erupted in the strong room area in the Co-operative College campus of Jamshedpur when a truck from Maharashtra entered the college premises, raising false apprehension of carrying EVMs.

Members of the JMM and Indi alliance created a ruckus, suspecting the truck contained electronic voting machines (EVMs).

Upon receiving information about the incident, the District Election Officer, along with the District Superintendent of Police and SDO, quickly arrived at the strong room to inspect the truck.

JMM candidate Sameer Kumar Mohanty, Jugsalai MLA Mangal Kalindi, and other leaders also rushed to the scene.

The District Election Officer conducted the truck inspection in the presence of the India alliance candidate and representatives from all political parties.

The inspection revealed that the truck contained waste materials used during the elections, not EVMs.

These materials, along with the truck, were sealed in the presence of everyone on the campus.

Following the inspection and clarification, the leaders and workers of JMM and the India alliance calmed down.

Sameer Kumar Mohanty, the Indi alliance candidate, stated that any vehicle entering the premises from outside should be communicated to everyone beforehand.

However, after the investigation, he expressed satisfaction with the findings.

District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal denied any possibility whatsoever of EVMs entering the strong room via the truck from outside.
