LTC for JUSCO Employees Raised by INR 9100; Car Allowance Introduced for JS-JW Workers

Tata Steel UISL (formerly JUSCO) announces an increase in Leave Travel Concession up to INR 9100, and introduces car allowance for JS-JW workers, positively impacting around 720 employees.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel UISL (formerly JUSCO) has announced a considerable increase in the Leave Travel Concession (LTC) for its employees by up to INR 9100.

This move follows an agreement between the JUSCO management and the union, revealed by the JUSCO Shramik Union President, Raghunath Pandey, at the union office in Bistupur. Approximately 720 employees stand to benefit from this agreement, including those who have retired since 2020 who will receive LTC arrears.

New LTC Figures for JS, JW and PGK Grade Employees

Pandey explained that JUSCO’s JS and JW grade supervisors and workers, who previously received an LTC of INR 21,500, will now receive INR 30,600 – an increase of INR 9,100.

This agreement spans two block years, from January 1, 2020, to the end of 2024. Furthermore, PGK grade employees earning a basic salary less than INR 29,000 will now receive an annual LTC of INR 35,600.

Employees earning a basic salary above this threshold will receive an annual LTC of INR 37,600, indicating an increase of INR 8,100. The union confirmed that currently, there are no employees with a basic salary less than INR 29,000.

Significant Increase in Transport Allowance

The company also announced an increase in transport allowance.

The daily cycle allowance for PK&G series employees has risen from INR 8 per day to a monthly INR 540. For employees who use bikes, the allowance has increased from INR 1500 to INR 1925 per month for workers, and from INR 1550 to INR 1975 per month for supervisors. New series employees in JS and JW grades will see their bike allowance rise from INR 1450 to INR 1925.

The company also increased car allowance for workers from INR 2050 to INR 2550 and for supervisors from INR 2250 to INR 2750.

Inclusion of JS and JW Grades in Car Allowance Scheme

The new agreement also introduced a car allowance for JS and JW grade employees. Workers will now receive a monthly car allowance of INR 2550, and supervisors will receive INR 2750. This fulfilled the union’s earlier promise to secure car allowances for these grades. The arrears of the petrol allowance will be made available from April 1, 2022, allowing retired employees also to reap the benefits of this scheme.
