Sonari Nirmal Nagar Basti Residents Demand Commuting Road
Sonari Nirmal Nagar Basti residents protest at district headquarters in Jamshedpur, call for construction of a road.
JAMSHEDPUR – Residents of Nirmal Nagar Basti, under the jurisdiction of Sonari police station in Jamshedpur, demonstrated in front of the district headquarters on Wednesday.
Their demand: a road for commuting.
The group of protesters also submitted a letter outlining their demands to the Deputy Commissioner of the district.
Approximately six settlements, with a population of thousands, are nestled in the said locality.
The residents are currently facing a predicament due to a flat being constructed by a builder adjacent to the vacant space that serves as a linkage to the main road.
The builder, who initially objected to the road construction, had been stopped by the residents with administrative assistance.
But now, the work has resumed.
The builder’s assurances of a road for the residents appear to be mere words as the construction work progresses unbridled.
The residents, therefore, have taken their grievance to the Deputy Commissioner, voicing their demand for a commuting road to be provided in their area.
