Jharkhand Sees 37,309 Students Take CM’s Schools of Excellence Entrance Exam
37,309 students participate in Jharkhand’s Schools of Excellence entrance exam, marking it a turning point in the state’s educational landscape.
RANCHI – In a promising stride towards a new era of education in Jharkhand, 37,309 students participated in the entrance exam for admission to the Chief Minister’s Schools of Excellence (SoEs) today.
In Jamshedpur 1638 students took the entrance test.
This initiative provides hope for thousands of parents desiring English Medium education for their children, such as Ruby Das, a resident of Jamshedpur, whose daughter is now able to attend English medium school despite financial constraints.
The SoEs, introduced by the Chief Minister Hemant Soren, offer a solution to financial deterrents hindering access to quality education.
The scheme’s reception signifies a major leap towards educational standardization and equal opportunities across all society sections.
A wave of enthusiasm could be felt among the students eager to join the SoEs.
Out of 37,309 test participants, 3,915 were from Deoghar, 3,344 in Palamu, 2,517 in Lohardaga, 2,352 in Chatra, 1,818 in Seraikela-Kharsawan, 1,693 in Giridih, 1,638 in East Singhbhum, 1,607 in Ramgarh, and 1,554 in Ranchi.
In response to parents’ demand, the application deadline for SoEs was extended to May 25, 2023.
The first merit list will be released on June 7, with enrollment commencing from June 12, based on the merit list.
This significant turnout in the entrance exam showcases the widespread support and anticipation for the transformative educational opportunities envisioned through the SoEs.
In Jamshedpur, the three schools recognized schools as schools of excellence include the Upgraded +2 Girls High School in Sakchi, Jamshedpur (classes 6, 7, and 8 – girls only); BPM +2 High School in Burmamines, Jamshedpur (Class 9 – boys and girls); and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Sundernagar, a residential school offering class 6 with a reservation for girls.
