Marwari Sammelan rejects “pre-wedding shoots” as social evil, calls for a social ban

Purvi Singhbhum Marwari Sammelan reviews Aapno Rajasthan program, addresses social issues, and plans future initiatives in a meeting.

Jamshedpur – The third working committee meeting of the East Singhbhum District Marwari Conference session 2023-25 was held at the Meera Tower in Sakchi. The meeting unanimously termed the custom of showing pre wedding shoots in wedding functions as ‘social evil’ and called for a ban on this.

The primary goal of the meeting was to review the Aapno Rajasthan program, organized to celebrate Rajasthan State Foundation Day on March 30.

Participants also examined the event’s financial details and sought input for future programs.

Chairman Mukesh Mittal expressed gratitude to all members who contributed to the successful organization of Rajasthan Day.

Mohit Shah presented the event’s financial account, revealing that the program was executed within the budget.

Press Secretary CA Siddharth Khandelwal proposed forming a committee to address the rising number of divorces and family disputes in society.

He said that the initiative would promote harmony and reduce legal conflicts.

The committee unanimously agreed to discourage the practice of pre-wedding shoots, which they deemed socially unacceptable when displayed at wedding ceremonies.

General Secretary CA Vivek Chaudhary suggested creating a slide to share on social platforms, informing the community of the ban on pre-wedding shoots.

Mittal announced plans to create a website and app for the Purvi Singhbhum Zila Marwari Sammelan’s programs, with Anil Agarwal and Gaurav Jawanpuria tasked with social media promotion.

A magazine for the East Singhbhum District Marwari Sammelan is also in the works, led by Ashok Khandelwal and Advocate Mahabir Agarwal.

Mittal emphasized the importance of transparency in all society-related work and revealed efforts to obtain discounted in-patient medical fees at Brahmanand Hospital.

The meeting concluded with the felicitation of the newly elected office-bearers.
