Section 144 Lifted in Jamshedpur’s Shastri Nagar After Eight Days; Life Returns to Normal
Section 144 lifted in Jamshedpur’s Shastri Nagar; life normalizes 8 days after violence and tension. Police patrols continue to ensure peace and stability.
Jamshedpur – The Dhalbhum Sub-Divisional Magistrate has announced the removal of Section 144 in Shastri Nagar block number three, under Kadma police station jurisdiction, after eight days of its imposition due to violent clashes.
A notification has been issued to confirm the decision by the Dhalbhum SDO, which has allowed life to return to normal in the area.
The removal of Section 144 has led to the normalization of people’s movement and daily activities in Shastri Nagar.
The police force that had been deployed in the area has been withdrawn, but regular patrolling will continue to monitor the situation and ensure peace and stability.
Tensions escalated on April 9 when a violence broke out in the vicinity, leading to a deteriorating situation in the area.
The incident prompted the deployment of anti-riot squads and units such as the Rapid Action Force (RAF) to contain the violence.
During the violence, aerial firing occurred, and several shops and vehicles were set ablaze. Police were also targeted with stone-pelting.
Authorities managed to bring the situation under control, and an FIR was registered against 119 named individuals and 1200 unidentified persons involved in the violence.
As life resumes normalcy, the continued police presence in the area aims to deter any further unrest and maintain public safety.
