North Korea has welcomed the new year with launch of a short-range ballistic missile (SRBM).

According to the report, this missile was launched from the Ryongsong area of ​​Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, around 2:50 am local time on Sunday. The missile fell about 400 kilometers away in the East Sea.

Meanwhile, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff told the media in a message, “Our military is ready to respond appropriately to any provocation by North Korea.”
