Jamshedpur: Politics has surfaced over the ongoing tussle between Saryu Roy and Raghubar Das and their respective supporters. Now, Anand Bihari Dubey, senior Congress leader, has jumped into the fray and has flayed both Saryu Roy and Raghubar Das for muddying the water in their tussle over a religious place.
Calling it petty politics, the Congress party called it an attack on Hindutva.
During a press conference on Saturday, senior Congress leader Anand Bihari Dubey said that Friday night, the supporters of former Chief Minister Raghubar Das and sitting MLA Saryu Rai clashed near the Surya Mandir premises.
He said that this forced the administration to intervene and put a stop to the cultural program to be held there and prompted it to deploy police on the temple premises.
The state Congress leader Anand Bihari Dubey said that the place is a religious one and the two leaders should not create unnecessary turmoil there.
He said that the controversy has generated heat and the incidents of violence have hurt the sentiments of Hindus. He added, that Congress party strongly condemns this incident.
He said that the Congress party practices the politics of non-violence and will always oppose such incidents.
He urged the district administration to take strict action in this matter.
