RPF and GRP hold flag marches in Tatanagar and Adityapur Railway Areas

Case registered against 200 agitationists

Jamshedpur: Joint flag marches were conducted on Sunday in different areas adjoining Tatanagar and Adityapur railway stations to thwart any move to damage railway property by agitators opposing the Agniveer Scheme announced by the central government and the armed forces.

Teams of RPF, GRP and District Police conducted flag marches around Tatanagar Railway Station and Adityapur Railway Stations to ensure that the incident of destruction of railway properties in protest against Agneepath scheme in different states of the country are not repeated in Jamshedpur and adjoining areas.

Recently, while protesting against the Agneepath scheme, near Dukhu Market under Jugsalai police station, some distance from Tatanagar railway station, the protesting youth had stopped the train and registered their protest by setting fire to the railway track.

However, due to the vigilance of the railway administration and the district administration, no untoward incident occurred and the protesters were sent home.

Nevertheless, RPF did register a case against 200 unknown protesting youth and now in view of the incidents happening in different states of the country, railway management decided to hold flag marches to ensure that this incident does not recur in Jamshedpur and surrounding areas. The flag marches continued in and around Tatanagar Railway Station, Adityapur Station and Adityapur Station Railway areas since morning.

Not only this, the commandos of RPF also joined this flag march and made people aware by asking people not to pay attention to any kind of rumour and advised them not to damage government properties and instead lodge their protest peacefully.
