Jamshedpur: A newborn infant died in Sadar Hospital in Khas Mahal Friday morning. The family members have accused the treating paediatrician of negligence and have demanded action against the guilty doctor. The family members also caused a big ruckus on the hospital premises.

The family said that the baby died because of negligence on the part of the treating doctor. They also accused the doctor of misbehaving with the family members.

The family members said that the doctors kept telling them that the baby’s health was improving. However, they charged, the doctors suddenly declared the child dead.

On August 24, Pawan Kumar, a resident of Jugsalai ME School Road, had admitted his wife to Sadar Hospital for delivery. His wife gave birth to a child. Due to deteriorating health, the child was kept in Baby Care wing of the hospital on the advice of doctors. However, on Friday, the baby died.

He said that after the birth, when the mother was feeding the baby, the milk was getting stuck in the throat due to difficulty in breathing. Due to complications, the child died.

He said that the doctors tried a lot to save the child but they could not succeed.
