Sikh community wears black badge to protest Taranjit Singh’s killing in Manila

Jamshedpur: The Sikh community of Jamshedpur wore black badge on Tuesday to protest and mourn Taranjit Singh’s killing in Manila.

Late Taranjit Singh’s family members have appealed to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure that justice is done to those who killed Taranjit Singh.

In a mark of protest and to mourn the untimely demise in Manila, Philippines of Jamshedpur’s youth Taranjit Singh, the members of the Sikh community wore black badges on Tuesday.

The members of the community demanded action against the culprits.

On the other hand, the family members late Taranjit Singh Sami, who was killed by miscreants on July 11 last in Manila, Philippines, have made a compassionate plea to the Prime Minister. They have urged the PM to ensure justice in the case.

They said that the Government of India should ensure that no mother has to lose her son in any country of the world.

In the last Ardas held for the deceased at the local Sakchi Gurdwara, the mournful family members along with members of different Sikh organisations have urged all the political parties and top leaders of the country, including the PM, HM and External Affairs Minister to ensure that the perpetrators of the heinous crime are punished as per the laws of Philippines and the international laws.

The president of Jharkhand Sikh Vikash Manch and maternal uncle of the deceased Gurdeep Singh Pappu and Shailendra Singh said that a memorandum would be sent to the PM through the DC on Thursday.

All members and leaders of the Sikh community have expressed solidarity with the aggrieved family.
