Youth arrested for selling brown sugar in Azadnagar, sent to judicial custody

Jamshedpur: The city police have arrested a youth o the charges of selling brown sugar in Azadnagar area in Mango. The youth hails from Adityapur but was arrested from Azadnagar area.

Police have launched a special drive against illegal narcotics and contraband material business in the city. The DIG of Kolhan Rajiv Ranjan Singh in a meeting on Wednesday with the top officials of the city police had instructed them to launch a strict drive against narcotics business.

A day after the meeting with DIG, the city police has gone into an overdrive and has been making raids at different places.

On Thursday, acting on a tip off, the police raided Azad Nagar area and arrested on Md Firoz red-handed selling brown sugar.

The police said that the arrested youth hails from Adityapur. However, he was selling brown sugar near Old Purulia Road No. 11. The police caught him red-handed. A case was registered against the accused and he has been sent to judicial custody.
