BJP and BJM workers cross path in Burmamines Raghuvar Nagar
Jamshedpur: BJP and BJM workers continue to walk on collision course in the city as political differences once again brought the supporters of the two parties face to face in Jamshedpur on Tuesday in the wake of vandalising of a development scheme plaque in Long Tom Basti, which is now called Raghuvarnagar.
The latest fracas was reported from Long Tom Basti under the jurisdiction of Burmamines police station where some unidentified persons vandalised and broke a plaque relating to development schemes.
The Burmamines unit of Saryu Roy’s party Bhartiya Jan Morcha has blamed BJP leaders for this vandalism and has opposed the vandalism and destruction of plaque.
The BJM leaders blamed the BJP leaders of trying to cause fear in the minds of the people and said that the basti, which was renamed as Raghuvar Nagar, be again named as Long Tom Basti.
It may be mentioned here that a few months back during BJP’s rule in Jharkhand, the name of the Long Tom Basti was changed to Raghuvar Nagar.
Now, that BJP is not in power in the state, BJM is trying to spread its influence in the area.
During the last Assembly elections too, BJP and BJM workers had clashed in the area.
The political differences have again deepened between the two parties and are threatening to disturb law and order in the basti.
