Admn disallows cultural programmes on New Year in city

Only 50% capacity allowed for hotels and restaurants, no loud music after 10 p.m., corona guidelines to be enforced strictly

Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum District Administration held a meeting with the representatives of Hotel Association and management of hotels and restaurants in the district on Monday. All the hoteliers and restaurateurs were apprised with the guidelines issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and the State Government regarding new year celebrations.

The district administration made it clear that no cultural programmes would be allowed to be held in the district as these have been banned. Miscreants would be dealt with strictly. No loud music would be allowed after 10 p.m.. Besides, only 50% of the full capacity can be used in any hotel, restaurant or community hall at one time for any gathering.

Cultural programmes have been barred and no new year programmes can be organised in any hotel or restaurant.

The City SP Subhas Chandra Jat, SDO Dhalbhum Nitish Kumar Singh and ADM (Law & Order) Nand Kishore Lal held a meeting with the representatives of hotels and restaurants on Monday.

The City SP told them that the police would keep an eye on miscreants, but they too should keep an eye on them at their level. He also advised them to avoid unnecessary crowding in their premises to avoid any sort of ruckus or trouble.

He said that the senior officials of the district police would keep an eye on every activity. He said that new year should be celebrated with decorum and civility ensuring everyone’s safety and security.

The SDO of Dhalbhum Nitish Kumar Singh advised the hoteliers to maintain a log book in their establishments, ensure that only 50% of the capacity is used for seating and allowing people. He also advised them to ensure use of hand wash, sanitisers and masks. He said that thermal screening of everyone entering would be mandatory. Maintaining a log book too would be necessary and every person’s mobile name, name and address should be recorded.

He said that the risks of infection have not vanished yet and guidelines must be complied with.

The ADM (law and order) said that no loud music should be played after 10 p.m.

He appealed to everyone to ensure that there is no trouble during new year celebrations.

He said that a maximum of 200 persons can take part in any programme, but the total number of people cannot be more than half of the capacity of any hall or premises.

He said that a meeting would also be held on December 30 with the members of different co-operative societies of the district.
