No Corona death for second consecutive day, total deaths remain at 356

Recovery rate 91%, mortality rate 2.2%, positivity rate 5.1%

Jamshedpur: Coronavirus remained on retreat even on Friday in Jamshedpur as it claimed no further life in East Singhbhum district allowing the total death toll to remain at 356.

The official data for Friday were soothing as after claiming more lives for two days continuously, coronavirus seems to have lessened its fury once again. On Thursday there was not a single life lost to it, and on Friday too it claimed no life.

According to official data, on Friday, 38 new positive cases were detected in East Singhbhum district, taking the total number of infections in the district to 16,120. On the same day, 46 persons were also cured and discharged. The number of recovered persons in the district has now reached 14,571.

For now, the number of active cases of coronavirus infection in East Singhbhum district is 1,193.

Till date, the district has tested 3,14,215 samples. Out of these, 16,120 samples have tested positive, while, 2,98,095 samples have tested negative.

The recovery rate for the district has now climbed up to 91%. The mortality rate remains at 2.2%, which is still higher than the national mortality rate and the mortality rate for Jharkhand. The positivity rate is 5.1%, which is not so bad.
