Jusco Union elections postponed, Raghunath Pandey blames ‘outsiders’ for vitiating environment

Jamshedpur: Amidst differences and bitter tussle, the elections of Jusco Shramik Union has been postponed till further order. The elections were scheduled tone held on November 3 and 4. However, in view of Corona pandemic and the factional infighting within the union, the Deputy Commission had suggested that the elections be postponed.

Keeping the advisory of the DC, the present working committee and the election observer took a decision to postpone the elections.

However, the incumbent president of the union Raghunath Pandey has held ‘outsider elements’ responsible for the postponement of union elections.

He told his detractors that he has an experience of 35 years of running a trade union and it is the employees who elect him as the union president. He challenged his detractors to contest elections against him instead of levelling unfounded allegations and vitiating the environment in the union.

He said that the entire process of union elections would be completed within the precincts of Jusco. In such a situation, it is not right to create a needless controversy.
