5 migrant labourers returning from Chennai sent back to Pakur
Jamshedpur: The return of migrant labourers from different states of the country is still going on. A significant number of migrants are still stuck in different other states and are slowly returning to their native places. 5 of such migrant labourers somehow managed to return to Jharkhand from Chennai, facing a lot of difficulties. BJP leaders helped them go back to their native place in Pakur.
According to the migrant labourers, they had gone to Chennai for work. A contractor had taken them to Chennai by a bus saying that they would be employed in a biscuit factory. However, they were asked to work in an iron-works, which they did not like at all. They worked for one month and after getting some money, they all slinked away.
The migrant labourers said that they had some saved money and using that they took a bus and somehow managed to reach Bahalda in Orissa. They had spent all their money and had nothing to eat or travel back. From Bahalda they were helped by some local Santhal community members and sent to Jamshedpur.
The labourers said that 40 of them were taken to Chennai for work. But most of the labourers have come back.
BJP leaders of Jamshedpur received information about their arrival at Karandih. BJP leader Ramesh Hansda received them at Karandih, arranged food for them and then brought them to district BJP office.
All the migrant labourers were wished well and congratulated for their firm will-power to come back to their own native place despite problems.
BJP leaders Ramesh Hansda, Mahanagar BJP president Gunjan Yadav and Bharat Singh arranged bus tickets for the migrant labourers and sent them back to Pakur.
Speaking on the issue, Gunjan Yadav flayed Hemant Soren government and said that the state government has shown extreme lack of sensitivity to the problems of migrants. Several migrant youths were left to their fate by the state government.
BJP leader Ramesh Hansda advised Hemant Soren to look after the youths of Santhal Pargana as well as the state. He said that Santhal Pargana is the main centre for JMM, yet the migrant labourers of that region are hapless as there is no one who could help them.
He said that BJP workers and leaders would continue helping each migrant Labourer and anyone from the state who needs support. He said that JMM-led government is doing nothing too help the Adivasis.
