Mandirs open their doors, devotees flock for darshan of deities

Jamshedpur: Temples opened in the city on Thursday according to the relaxations given in the latest guidelines issued by the Government of Jharkhand. Earlier, the union government as well as the state government had issued guidelines instructing temples to close down keeping the fight against coronavirus pandemic in mind.

With phased unlock process several relaxations have been given by the state government as well as the union government. The lates guidelines issued by the Jharkhand government allow re-opening of places of worship all over the state.

However, these mandirs as well as other religious places would have to take safety precautions.

The guidelines ot allow re-opening of mandirs and other religious places have come as a boost for the economy associated with mandirs and religious places too. While the shopkeepers, priests as well as devotees were seen welcoming the relaxation, especially in the festive season, the devotees were also conscious of their safety responsibility. Most devotees were seen wearing masks and complying with safety precautions.

Coronavirus is still taking a toll on the state, yet the state government has taken a considered decision to allow re-opening of mandirs.
