Minister tested negative for Corona on Friday, yet succumbed to ill health

Ranchi: The Minority Welfare Minister of Jharkhand Haji Hussain Ansari is no more. He breathed his last on Saturday in Medanta Hospital in Ranchi. He had recovered from Coronavirus infection and on Friday itself his corona test report came as negative. However, he was unwell for the last few days. He succumbed to his illness.

The Chief Minister Hemant Soren and politicians from across the political spectrum have expressed grief at his demise.

Late Haji Hussain Ansari had diabetes and had got heart surgery done too. He was admitted in Medanta Hospital several times. Each time he recovered and went back home fully recovered. But, corona infection was something he could not recover from fully. He had tested negative on Friday. He was all right at night too. But, on Saturday his condition started deteriorating. He was put on ventilator. He died at around 3.30 p.m.

Late Haji Ahmad Ansari had started his political career as a Congress leader. Later, he had joined Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. He contested Assembly elections on Madhupur Assembly seat. However, he was inducted into the cabinet whenever Jharkhand Mukti Morcha formed a government in Ranchi. He had also worked as the chairman of State Haj Committee.

The Chief Minister Hemant Soren in his reaction said: “I am aggrieved at the demise of respected Haji Hussain Ansari. He had played an important role in Jharkhand movement. He was a simple, yet firm in his belief. May God help the family pass through the difficult times.”

BJP Legislature Party leader Babulal Marandi too has expressed grief at the demise of Haji Hussain Ansari. In his message he said: “ I received the sad information about demise of Jharkhand minister Haji Hussain Ansari. I pray for peace to his soul and strength to his family members to bear this grief.
