Mobile snatching gang busted, 8 arrested, sent to jail

Jamshedpur: Sakchi police have busted a gang of criminals who are involved in a spate of mobile snatching crimes in the city. The police have arrested 8 members of the gang and sent them all to judicial custody.

Police have also recovered 17 mobile phones from the arrested members of the gang.

The police said that all the accused are residents of Bhuiyandih Gwala Bustee.

Speaking to the media, the City SP Subhash Chandra Jat said that Sakchi police got a tip-off about their being a snatching gang active in the city.

A police patrol party had chased and caught the leader of the gang Sagar Kumar Sharma from Sakchi near Sheetla Mandir area.

On the basis of a tip-off from him , his friend Santosh Thakur was arrested on Thursday.

Later, on the basis of their statements, other members of the gang were also arrested along with mobile phones.

Sagar Sharma had been sent to jail earlier too. All eight accused have been sent to jail.
