Health Minister Banna Gupta warns of legal action if rate chart is violated by private hospitals
Jamshedpur: The state government has fixed rates for hospitals for treating Corona patients. The government was receiving complaints that private hospitals were charging patients unfairly and to prevent this, the government today issued a detailed rate chart.
The Health Minister Banna Gupta, in a tweet, said: “The state government has fixed rates for treatment of corona patients. We were receiving complaints that private hospitals were charging in anomalous manner. We have fixed rates now. If complaints are received hereinafter, legal action would be taken against such hospitals.”
According to the state government rate chart, all the districts have been divided in three categories – A, B and C.
Ranchi, East Singhbhum, Dhanbad and Bokaro districts fall under Category A.
Hazaribagh, Palamu, Deoghar, Seraikela, Ramgarh and Giridih fall under Category B.
Other districts fall under Category C.
All hospitals too have been divided into two categories – NABH and non-NABH.
For Category A districts and Hospitals with NABH accreditation the rates are as follows:
- For Asymptomatic patients Rs. 6000 (with PPE kit)
- Isolation bed Rs. 10,000 (with oxygen)
- ICU non-ventilator Rs 15,000 (with PPE kit)
- ICU with ventilator Rs. 18000
For Category A districts and Non-NABH Hospitals
- For asymptomatic patients Rs. 5500 (with PPE kit)
- Isolation bed Rs. 8000 (with oxygen)
- ICU non-ventilator Rs. 13000 (with PPE kit)
- ICU with ventilator Rs. 15000 (with PPE kit)
The health department has also fixed rates for tests. This includes Rs. 400 for ABG test, Rs. 100 for Blood Sugar test, Rs. 800 for D-dimer, Rs. 150 for Haemoglobin test, Rs. 3500 for CT Chest, Rs. 500 for X-ray Chest and Rs. 300 for ECG.
