Tata Steel Downstream Products Ltd. (TSDPL) surpasses Jharkhand’s employment guidelines, recruiting over 80% local youths for its Jamshedpur plants.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a significant development for local employment, Tata Steel Downstream Products Ltd. (TSDPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Steel, has recruited over 80% of its new employees from Jharkhand for its Jamshedpur plants.

This recruitment drive not only fulfills but also exceeds the Jharkhand government’s mandate, which requires a minimum of 75% local candidates in certain private sector jobs.

TSDPL’s commitment to local employment reflects its dedication to the economic development of the areas where it operates.

The selection process, lauded for its transparency and fairness, included written exams and interviews.

TSDPL’s focus on providing more employment opportunities aligns with its ambitious growth plans and is poised to contribute significantly to Jharkhand’s economy.

Founded in 1997 as Tata Ryerson Ltd, TSDPL evolved from a joint venture to a fully Tata Steel-owned entity in 2009.

Celebrating its Silver Jubilee in 2022, TSDPL has demonstrated a sustained commitment to community development and local talent nurturing.
