Incessant rains inundate Adarsh Nagar in Sonari, many other areas in city too

Jamshedpur: Incessant rains in the city have inundated a large part of Adharsh Nagar in Sonari. Life has been thrown out of gear in these areas as people are forced to remain confined to homes.

Non-stop rain since Wednesday has caused water-logging in many low-lying areas of the city. Most affected areas are those which are situated close to rivers and where drainage system is not efficient enough to clear the water-logging.

Adarash Nagar in Sonari is one such area which has historically been prone to flooding and water logging problems every year. During rains water logging is a regular feature for the residents of Adarsh Nagar as they have to keep waiting for the water logging to clear up before they can go about their normal life.

Non-stop rains for the last 24 Hours have caused inundation of a large part of Adarsh Nagar. Water has entered the parking areas of many flats and even entered the flats situated on ground floor in many housing complexes.

Residents say that they are hoping that the rains will stop after a few hours so that water logging can clear up in their area.

A local resident complained of water logging and said that they have been facing this problem for around 10 years with no solution in sight.

Another woman resident of Panchwati Nagar too voiced the same problems. She said that commuters are facing a lot of problems due to water logging.

Many roads are flooded by water and it is difficult for commuters to tread them.
