Sikh shopkeepers of Jugsalai to shut down all shops and establishments by 3 p.m.

Sunday and Tuesday to be ‘No Business Days’

Jamshedpur: In a major development that is likely to have a big impact, all the shopkeepers of Sikh community of Jugsalai have decided to voluntarily shut down their shops and establishments by 3 p.m. every day. They have decided to keep their shops open only between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

They have also taken a decision to keep their shops and establishments completed shut on Sunday as well as Tuesday. Earlier, only Sunday was observed as a no-business day by Jugsalai shopkeepers.

These important decisions were taken in a meeting of the shopkeepers from the Sikh community.

The Sikh shopkeepers later said that the community is worried at the increasing threat and severity of Corona virus pandemic.

They said that the people of the community have taken these decisions based on their own conscience.

They also appealed to all other shopkeepers to follow these timings. They expressed hope that businesses of people from other communities would also co-operate in making it a success and making the fight against Corona more effective.
