Villagers soon gathered at the spot. Moreover, they blocked the Hata–Odisha route. The protesters demanded firm action. They did not allow police to remove the body.
Traffic stopped on the route. However, long queues formed quickly. Many travellers faced delays.
Protesters raised several demands. They sought a ban on large vehicle parking near the weighing point. They also demanded a halt to overloading at the Haldi Pokhar railway siding. In addition, they asked for stronger checks on speeding Hyva trucks.
Police reached the site. However, they worked to calm the situation. Officers later seized the Hyva. They initiated legal steps in the case.
