People’s Patience Paid Off On Golpahari-Govindpur Road Which Has Been Dilapidated For Four Years, Protested By Blocking The Road

Jamshedpur: The anger of the local people was visible on the road on Monday regarding the bad condition of the main road going from Golpahari to Govindpur in Parsudih police station area. Angry villagers and area residents blocked the road and raised slogans and demonstrated against the administration. During this period, traffic was affected on the road for hours and long queues of vehicles formed.

The protesting people allege that the Golpahari-Govindpur road is in a dilapidated condition for the last four years, but no concrete initiative has been taken till now for its construction and repair. Local people raised questions on the working style of the concerned department and the contractor and accused them of serious negligence in road construction.

Villagers say that due to huge potholes and rough surface on the road, accidents happen every day. Drivers and pedestrians passing through this route have to face a lot of trouble and have to travel risking their lives. According to local residents, the poor condition of the road has led to many serious accidents in which people have lost their lives. Despite this, no effective action has been taken by the administration till now.

The protesters warned that if the road construction work is not started soon, the movement will be expanded further. On receiving information about the road jam, administrative officials reached the spot and tried to convince the people. However, the protesters remained adamant on their demands until they received clear assurance regarding road construction.

The residents of the area have demanded from the district administration to start the road repair and construction work immediately, so that people can get safe and easy transportation facilities.
